Time Travel, is it possible?

Time travel has long been a concept that has enticed the minds of both the scientific community as well as the average individual. The possibilities that could be achieved if time travel were possible are both amazingly positive as well as potentially disastrous. Is there any possibility that time travel could one day be achieved? If so, then what would the outcome be?

First, before even attempting to achieve time travel, one has to consider the concept of time. Is it truly a concept? If so, then time travel would be impossible. Consider it from a neutral standpoint. To travel to a place, one has to have an actual “place” to set his destination. For time travel to be possible, every single second in time would not be a moment or an occurrence, it would have to be an actual place. Somewhere, there would have to be a place where each moment in time would have to be stored, or where it would lie. This realization seems to nullify the concept of time travel a bit, but still, it does not rule out the possibility.

Then, we have the concept of barriers. For time travel to be possible there would have to be some sort of intangible barriers between each moment in time. How would we break down those barriers, and at the same time, would they instantly reform? If not, the outcome is inconceivable. Would a hole between two moments in time cause irreparable damage in the time stream?

It has been suggested by some scientists that time travel could be achieved if one could find a way to go faster than the speed of light. This is an interesting concept, but unbeknownst to many, a concept that has been ultimately shot down. Consider, if you will, the computer you are sitting at. When you type in a letter from your keyboard, it reaches your hard drive and your monitor instantly. Actually, the transfer of information is really going faster than the speed of light. For time travel to be possible by achieveing something faster than the speed of light, then the words you type into your computer would actually appear on the screen before your typed them.

In the end, one can theorize that time travel would someday become possible, but the human race will have to make many technological advances well before we will ever see this come to light. Even then, scientists will have to see time travel as a possibility instead of a mere theory.
