What Is Your Business Name?

Brand Identity

To create and give it an identity you give your business a name. To add more to it you design a logo and add a catchy slogan, and colors based on the characteristics of your product. For any business, a strong identity is important. The individuality and distinctiveness of a good name make a business stand apart from its competitors. To complete a brand’s identity you need to build up a reputation with your customers, set up a means of communication and invent unique techniques to attract more consumers.

Why is Branding required for any business?

You watch many advertisements on television. At an average, you will see at least a dozen advertisements every hour out of which 3 to 4 belong to a specific product. Though the same product is available under different brand names it is the advertising style and the message conveyed by the brand, which works the strongest. Once you are successful in winning the attention and business of consumers, you know that you have successfully created a good image for your brand. Honesty and reliability accompanied by security are the main virtues that any customer would expect from a good brand.

Branding Options

You have a couple of branding options that can boost the value of your product and business.

Build a new brand name

Before building a brand name, consider a few aspects of your business. It should be short, crisp and easy to remember. The name should link to the product one way or another. People should be able pronounce it easily. If trying to create a website for the product, check if the same name is available as the domain name.

Applying existing brand names

Using a prevailing brand name for your product is risky, you will have to work very hard to promote it and make a place for it in the market.

Co-branding

This is another way of creating a strong foothold for your business. Join a reputed company that deals in the same product as yours and use their brand name to promote your business. Many companies do the same on the internet to achieve brand recognition.

Online Brand Promotion

To promote your brand online you will have to select a suitable Business Domain name. Try to get the same domain name as that of your company. If someone else has taken the name, try to buy it from him or her, if you use it without permission, it will be considered a trademark breach for which legal action will have to be taken. If you intend to be an online unit, you need to possess a unique business name for your domain, which provides your customers with a little information about your product.
